Ethics Day a Hit With Area High Schools and Business Leaders
On December 7th, the Concord Campus and the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce joined together with Mt. Diablo Unified School District to host "Ethical Decision-Making for Tomorrow's Leaders". Eighty high school students, thirty business leaders and ten educators joined for the annual event, focusing on the decision-making process and ethics.

Concord Councilman Mark Peterson was the keynote speaker and discussed the importance of ethical decision-making for elected officials, today's business leaders and the upcoming generation.

Participants then broke up into small groups where they discussed scenarios found in the workplace or at school. Various ways to address the issues were shared, creating much discussion and debate. At lunch, groups reported back about their experience. Each school group then planned how they could take the Ethics Day experience back to their own schools and share it with their peers.

Concord Campus Construction Boom Almost Here
The Concord Campus is undergoing its own construction boom! By Fall 2008, Concord students will be enjoying a refurbished Café and Redwood Room. While the project has been 'in the works' for a long time, we are ready to go to bid in January, which will ensure a prompt start to the construction immediately following 2008 Commencement. Concord student leadership, staff and the architectural team have been working to ensure that the proposed changes make a significant contribution to the success of our students and the campus. Exciting developments are on the horizon for the Concord Campus Chapter! As our Chapter heads into a new year, we are excited to meet members of the CSUEB Alumni Association, new and old, and learn more about how they would like to see the Concord Chapter meet their needs. This year we are looking forward to hosting informal networking events at local businesses, hosting informative discussions on topics our members are interested in hearing about, participating in activities at the Concord campus, and hosting social events designed to raise funds to further the development of a productive and member-driven Alumni Chapter.
