What if I need to get into my office when the campus is closed?

Buildings are alarmed when the campus is closed. If you need access to your faculty office, please go the CCC Department of Public Safety located in the Facilities Maintenance Building. An officer will assist you in entering the building. You may be asked for identification.

Where can I post things for my class?

The bulletin boards outside the Faculty Support Suite are available to faculty to post homework solutions. Bulletin boards have also been added outside faculty offices to be used by faculty. Please feel free to post any information you feel is appropriate on these bulletin boards.

How do I contact Campus Staff?

A CCC Staff Directory and phone instructions are inside the Faculty Handbook Binder on your CCC office desk. When calling within the campus dial the last five digits of the phone number. This will always start with a 2. To call CSUEB, dial 5 and the last 4 digits of the phone number. For an outside line, dial 9 and the phone number. Each CCC faculty office is also provided with a CSUEB Directory.

Do I have to buy a separate parking pass for the Concord Campus?

Parking permits are required Monday through Friday. Permits may be purchased in the Academic Services Lobby. If you know in advance that a temporary permit is needed for guest lecturers, the permit may be obtained from the Faculty Support Assistant. Faculty should park in the designated “Faculty Parking” lots.

How do get copies made for my classes at Concord?

The Concord Campus is not provided with a budget or personnel for faculty photocopying. Because of this, photocopying should be arranged through your home department. If you have your own copy card you are welcome to use the photocopiers located in the Library, Computer Lab and AS Lobby. Contact your home department to see if they will provide you with copy cards. You may also purchase a copy card in the AS lobby.

Is there a way to send mail to the main campus?

The mail from our campus is picked up at 10:00am from LB 236 and taken to CSUEB. The courier returns from CSUEB with mail between 3:00-3:30pm, M-F.

Where is there a phone that I can use?

Courtesy phones (phones with access to the main campus) are located in the Academic Services Lobby, Library, Computer Lab, Campus Union and in the main corridor on the 2nd floor of each building. Public pay telephones are located under the stairs of the Academic Services Building, near the Help Desk in the Computer Center, and in the Campus Union.

Who do I contact in an emergency situation?

For police, fire or medical emergency, call 911 first and stay on the line with the dispatcher until you are told to disconnect. Make sure the dispatcher knows which building/office you are in. Secondly, notify campus security at (925) 602-6737.

Is there an exam proctoring service on this campus?

Concord follows the same exam schedule as the Hayward campus, unless otherwise specified by the instructor. If you have a student who needs to make-up an exam you can see the Faculty Support Assistant for details. Unfortunately, we do not have staff available to proctor an exam for an entire class. The instructor would have to make alternate arrangements for an entire class.

How can I change the temperature in my classroom?

If your classroom is too hot, too cold, or you are having any other kind of facilities maintenance problems, please let the Faculty Support Assistant know as soon as possible at (925) 602-6775. She will direct your concern to the appropriate person so that the problem can be corrected before your next class meeting. For an after hours non-emergency situation, please leave a note for the Faculty Support Assistant in her mailbox, located across from the faculty mailboxes.

Is there a place where I can relax besides my office?

The Faculty Lounge is part of the Faculty Support Suite. There is a refrigerator, microwave, bottled water and coffee maker available for your use.

Faculty suggestion slips are located on your office desk. If you have any suggestions, complaints or compliments please let us know. You can give it to the Faculty Support Assistant in the Academic Services Building.

Is there a fax machine available for my use?

The phone number to the fax machine located in LB 236 (Faculty Support Suite) is (925) 602-8675.

When is the cafeteria open?

Vending machines are available in the Campus Union, 7:30am-10:00pm. The Campus Union hours vary by quarter. Please see sign posted on the doors.

Where do I pick up my grade roster?

Grade rosters are delivered to your home department in Hayward. Please contact your home department to have rosters sent to the Concord Campus.

Where do I apply for travel reimbursement?

Full-time CSUEB faculty are eligible for reimbursement for travel to the Concord Campus under certain conditions. Travel reimbursement claims must be processed through the appropriate school or instructional department office. You must have completed the State Defensive Driver Training class within the last 4 years to be eligible for travel expense reimbursement.

Do I have a voicemail box?

Voice mail instructions are located in the Faculty Handbook Binder on your CCC office desk. Voice mailboxes will no longer be automatically assigned; you may request a free voice mailbox with the Faculty Support Assistant.

What do I do if I leave or find something in a classroom?

Articles left in classrooms will be taken to the CCC Department of Public Safety in the Facilities Maintenance Building, where there is a “Lost and Found” container. The phone number to the CCC Department of Public Safety is (925) 602-6737.

Where do I get Copy Cards?

Purchase your own copy card so that you may use the copy machines at our campus. Some departments provide their faculty with a copy card.

How do I get an office key?

An office key is provided for each faculty member. This key opens your office as well as the Faculty Support Suite. If you lose a key to your faculty office, please see the Faculty Support Assistant in the Academic Services Building. Generally, if you plan on teaching at CCC the following quarter, you may keep your key. Otherwise, the key needs to be returned to the Faculty Support Assistant at the end of the quarter. Please check with the Faculty Support Assistant for further instructions.
