Creating a Page Break in Word

These instructions apply to Word 2000, XP, 2002, and 2003

INSTRUCTIONS

ALTERNATIVE 1

1. Click the mouse where you want the page break to be. In this example, it is assumed that the page break is between the second and third paragraph.

2. Hold down the Control (Ctrl) key, and while holding it down, press the Enter key once.

3. If you are viewing your pages with the Normal view, you will see that the paragraphs have been separated with a dotted line which says Page Break (see example below). If you are viewing your pages with the Print Layout view, you will see that the paragraphs have been separated into separate pages.

ALTERNATIVE 2

1. Another alternative for creating a page break is to first click where you want it to go.

2. Go to the Insert menu.

3. Choose Break.

4. Click on Page Break.

5. Click OK.
